Myrtle spent some time in Boston, Mass. where she was an acquaintance of Amelia Earhart. Her sister-in-law Dulcie Garland (nee Sceviour), better known as "Aunti Del", lived with her for many years. It was comforting to know she was there to help take care of Nana. Eventually, Aunti Del moved into the seniors cottages at North Haven Manor and a few years later, Nana did too.

As a magistrate William had to move around a lot. Most of the children were born at Little Bay Islands, NDB, but the 1921 census has them listed as living in Port Saunders on the Northern Peninsula.
