As a professional bass tournament director and a member of the Okeechobee County Tourism Council, Harvey is interested in promoting tourism during the off season, summertime.
Harvey's dedication to the preservation of bass fishing can be seen at Okee-Tantie Recreational Area, as he organized and built one of the finest catch and release weigh-in stations in the nation.
To boost tourism during the summer months, Harvey began one of the largest Bass tournaments called the Okee-Tantie Team Trail, held on Lake Okeechobee. The Team Trail begins in April, continues thru October, and ends with the Classic in November.
The Wantalinga Motel, owned by Harvey, is the host motel for his tournaments. For reservations
