Tahquamenon Falls

This is a great destination if you're into grand natural beauty. The upper falls are the second largest east of the Mississippi river after Niagra. Here are a few shots to show you what you can expect.

Lower falls A shot of a portion of the lower falls from one of the many scenic overlooks. This particular overlook is the first one you come to from the parking lot.
I cant quite remember where I stood while snapping this portion of the lower falls. It might have been on the boat landing.
A new photo to this page taken in late September 2004. A head on look at the lower falls.
Another shot from Sept 2004. A closer look at the lower falls
Several vacation go-ers delight in romping around the lower falls. (Definitely not advised on the upper falls)
Another new pic, this time a closeup of a portion of the lower falls. I like the shot because it shows of the rock formations really well.
Sept 2004 shot of the upper falls, which are about 4 miles upstream from the lower falls. This shot actually replaces a prior photo that was here that was taken with my old 110 camera (like the other old photos on here). My current camera allowed a much tighter shot from this vantage point.
Up close look at the upper falls. Signs at the park say that as much as 22,000 gallons per second fall over this precipice.
With the sun shining just right, I was able to catch this rainbow formed from the waterfall mist.
