The Soo Area
The pictures here have been sitting in my files for ages. I hang my head in shame as some of them finally see the light of day somewhere along the line of . . . oh . . . six years later.
A photo of the museum ship Valley Camp taken from the observation deck of the Tower of History. You can also see an ore boat headed toward the Soo Locks. The reason for the dirty water right next to the Valley Camp is that they are dredging the area to make a marina. (The marina is now complete.)
A photo taken of one of the American Locks from the deck of one of the tour boats. If I remember correctly, the building at the end of the lock is where the locks are controlled.
Shot of the deck of the Valley Camp. The small white structure near the starboard rail is the stairwell leading down to the exhibits below decks.
Looking down from the Tower of History on Sault Ste Marie. The american arches of the International Bridge are seen top center.
Still looking down from the Tower of History, this time the view is shifted to the right, bringing the canadian arch of the International bridge into view. I had wanted to stitch these two images together to produce a panoramic view, but they dont quite fit together due to the camera angles.
