Just like last week, the TV commentators were able to talk this game up as being the match of the round. The logic was that, because of the other results during the day, St Kilda and Freo were playing for the opportunity to jump into third spot. For Freo, that had the potential to only last over night, because Melbourne could go past them if they won on Sunday, which they duly did.
